The Oak Park Village Board of Trustees will weigh a potential property acquisition at 7100 Roosevelt Road when it meets Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Village Hall.

The agenda posted on Legistar lists the Roosevelt Road item alongside an appraisal, a marketing brochure and a purchase-and-sale agreement with the Cook County Land Bank Authority. No dollar figures have been released.

Trustees will also vote on a new intergovernmental agreement with the Chicago Transit Authority that would reimburse Oak Park for emergency calls to CTA Blue and Green Line stops. Under the agreement, the CTA would pay $3,000 per EMS transport, $500 per fire department response without transport and $75 per police patrol officer response, according to the Forest Park Review.

Several finance items are also on the agenda. The board will consider a finance policies resolution, a draft investment policy and an improper payment policy.

Other items include findings of fact for a drive-thru at 44 Madison St., a resolution setting trick-or-treat hours at 4 to 8 p.m. and a proclamation designating September 2026 as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The board will also take up a 2026 work plan for the Community Relations Commission, a Beyond Hunger resolution and the 2026 IPLAN.

The Sept. 29 agenda does not include any action on the village's ongoing zoning overhaul. The Plan Commission will hold its first public hearing on the Shape Oak Park proposal Oct. 8 at Oak Park and River Forest High School, with a board vote expected in November, as we reported Sept. 24.

Village President Vicki Scaman said at a Sept. 19 public engagement session that zoning changes would be gradual. "If we got 15 new homes a year that would be a lot," she told attendees, according to the Wednesday Journal.

The Finance Committee began reviewing the village's recommended five-year Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 at a Thursday, Sept. 24 meeting. That session covered the Parking Fund, Water/Sewer Fund, Motor Fuel Tax Fund and Community Development Block Grant allocations.

Sources disagree on the meeting's start time. The Legistar record and the Village Manager's Report both list 6 p.m., while the village's events page lists 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers, Room 201, at 123 Madison St. It will be streamed live and cablecast on VOP-TV (Comcast channel 6, AT&T U-verse channel 99).
