The Oak Park Fire Department will open its Main Station to the public Saturday, Oct. 3, for a free annual open house.

The event runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 N. Euclid Ave. The Village of Oak Park announced the open house Wednesday, Sept. 23, calling it a chance for Oak Parkers of all ages to see the equipment firefighters and paramedics rely on.

Visitors can tour the station, watch safety presentations and pick up handouts. A Vitalant blood drive will run alongside the open house to help supply local community blood centers. Appointments can be scheduled in advance through the village's event page. Walk-ins are welcome.

The 2025 open house drew more than 350 people and featured live demonstrations, including a fire and sprinkler demonstration, according to the department's 2025 annual report. The department responded to a record 9,474 calls for service that year and holds a Class 2 rating from the Insurance Services Office, or ISO, placing it in the top 5% of more than 48,000 departments evaluated nationwide.

The blood drive accepts both scheduled donors and walk-ins.
