Families heading to downtown Oak Park for Oaktoberfest on Sept. 25 and 26 will find a full slate of kids' programming alongside the live music and craft beer.

The Kids' Root Beer Garden will offer root beer floats from Cold Stone Creamery, zucchini races sponsored by REEG Plumbing, tie-dye T-shirts from Novick Orthodontics and an inflatable obstacle course called Little Sprouts Corn Quest, run by Collaboration for Early Childhood and sponsored by Renewal by Andersen. Face painting and a balloon twister run from 1 to 4 p.m., and a roaming photo booth operates from 1 to 6 p.m., according to Downtown Oak Park.

Local partners will staff arts and crafts stations.

A Second Dance Stage, sponsored by the Oak Park Area Arts Council, fills the afternoon with youth and professional performances. Ovation Academy and TranscenDance Studios alternate sets starting at 1:15 p.m., followed by a dance party at 1:55 p.m. Wingéd Things takes the stage at 3:15 p.m., and Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre closes the lineup from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.

For the second year, the Village of Oak Park's Office of Sustainability & Resilience is sponsoring a water buggy at the festival. Downtown Oak Park encouraged attendees to bring reusable water bottles in a Sept. 10 announcement.

Oaktoberfest takes place Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26, at Marion Street and North Boulevard, south of Lake Street, according to Oak Park and Beyond.
