Criminal damage at JJ's Fish
Around 4 p.m. on Oct. 20, an employee at JJ's Fish on Harlem called police to report a man with a gun wearing a ski mask. According to the police report, the man frequents the restaurant and had complained earlier that day that his food was cold. When the employee refused to remake it, the man said, "Watch what happens when I come back," and left. He returned screaming with his right hand in his front hoodie pocket, taunting the employee before throwing a table across the business. He drove away in a silver sedan. The incident was classified as criminal damage.
Battery near River Forest Town Center
Also on Oct. 20, a man told police he was exiting the River Forest Town Center when another driver would not let him merge onto Harlem. When the car pulled alongside, words were exchanged. A man got out of that car, punched the window, then punched him in the head, according to the police report. Officers reported blood on the man's face and a shattered driver's side window. One man told police the other driver approached him aggressively in the parking lot. When he went inside to pay for gas, the other man followed and punched him in the chest. The man who threw the punch told police the other driver had threatened to beat him up, so he swung at him but missed. Witnesses confirmed the interaction, and the man was charged with assault.
At the Aldi, an employee told police the man had previously been banned from the store. When she asked him to leave, he pulled down his pants and underwear, touched himself and jumped around, the report states. Police found him in the parking lot.
