The nine-incident log marks the second consecutive week with multiple retail thefts on Lake Street and the third straight week the corridor appeared in theft-related incidents, according to RFPD records. The prior week's summary (June 17–23) listed three retail thefts along the corridor, and the June 10–16 log included one aggravated battery tied to a retail theft at 7525 Lake St.
Arrests and charges
Wednesday, June 24 — Mark Patterson, 60, of the 14XX block of Canal Street in Chicago, was arrested at 7251 Lake St. at 1:01 p.m. on charges of retail theft, obstructing identification, and an outside warrant. He was transported for a detention hearing.
Saturday, June 27 — Tyesha Harris-Hillard, 37, of the 33XX block of Carroll Street in Chicago, was arrested at 7245 Lake St. at 12:48 p.m. on charges of aggravated battery and retail theft. She was released on citation and notice. Harris-Hillard also appeared in the June 17–23 log, when she received a criminal trespass warning at 7251 Lake St. on Monday, June 22.
Saturday, June 27 — Marquis Shelton, 42, of the 21XX block of 19th Street in Broadview, was arrested at 7525 Lake St. at 1:16 p.m. for retail theft. He was released on citation and notice.
Sunday, June 28 — Aaron Nunziato, 43, of the 5XX block of Cuyler Avenue in Oak Park, was arrested at 1200 Harlem Ave. at 3:31 a.m. on a charge of resisting or obstructing a peace officer. He was released on citation and notice.
Monday, June 29 — Justin Rivera, 30, of the 12XX block of 61st Street in Cicero, was arrested at the 15XX block of Ashland Ave. at 6:37 p.m. on charges of aggravated domestic battery by strangulation and endangering the life of a child. Rivera was transported for a detention hearing.
Other incidents
An identity theft was reported at 7727 Lake St. on Wednesday, June 24, at 3:26 p.m. An unknown offender used the victim's debit card to withdraw cash; the investigation is ongoing.
A motor vehicle theft was reported on Saturday, June 27, at 8:19 a.m. at the 11XX block of Franklin Avenue. The vehicle was taken overnight between 5 p.m. Friday, June 26, and 8 a.m. Saturday, June 27. Maywood police later recovered the vehicle. RFPD linked the theft to a burglary-to-motor-vehicle report filed the same morning across multiple addresses on Keystone Avenue, Park Avenue, and Ashland Avenue, where unknown offenders entered several unlocked cars.
A delayed retail theft report was filed at 7231 Lake St. on Sunday, June 28, at 1:06 p.m. An unknown offender removed merchandise; the investigation is ongoing.
